The governance of the Nordic twin cities of Lahti holds a meeting every year. This year's meeting will be held in Lahti, Finland. In addition to shop stewards, the meeting includes civil service management with their spouses as well as government representatives – 16 persons in total. The meeting was previously held in Lahti in 2005 and next year it is held in Västerås, Sweden.
The Nordic twin city meeting will be held on Thursday morning at Lahti City Hall, while the spouses will attend the Lahti International Organ festival in the Church of the Cross and visit the Travelling letters 2010 exhibition in the Lahti Art Museum. In the afternoon there is a joint visit to Päijät-Häme Waste Disposal Ltd. The evening ends with the Nordic cruise on Lake Vesijärvi.
On Friday, the program's theme is wellbeing. Twin town guests will be taken to the Vierumäki Sports Institute. There the representatives of Palmenia Centre for Continuing Education will present the results and objectives of the Päijät-Häme Ikihyvä project.
Guests also get acquainted with Lahti Aqua’s 100 years of operation. NGO Pohjola-Norden representatives take part in the visit and present Nordic cooperation contacted through their association.
