After normal working hours and at weekends, the emergency duty services operate at the Lahti City Hospital Emergency Duty department, which treats victims of sudden accidents or illnesses (see below).

Emergency dental treatment

A service exists for those in need of urgent dental treatment. It operates on weekdays Mon-Fri 12.00 midday – 6.00 pm and on weekends and holidays 9.00 am – 1.00 pm.

Emergency service/ mental health treatment
In general, doctors at the health centres will evaluate the situation and then direct the patient to mental health services and, if necessary, for psychiatric treatment. Health centre nurses, special psychiatric nurses and psychologists also provide guidance and advice. In cases of mental health problems, assistance can be sought from student healthcare services, social services and homecare services. In addition, you can contact the information service of the health centre in your own area, both during and outside normal working hours.

Emergency intoxication treatment
In cases of acute alcoholic or narcotic intoxication, assistance can be sought at Lahti A-Clinic, Hämeenkatu 21 A, 15110 Lahti, tel. (03) 877 222 or, in cases demanding hospital treatment, at the Accident and Emergency department of Lahti City Hospital 4.00 pm – 11.00 pm, tel.
