Construction of a bottling plant in Lahti confirmed

A large bottling plant will be built in Lahti, with all of its products intended for export. Investment is EUR 20–22 million.

Process and equipment planning for the plant, to be constructed in Lahti's Hennala suburb, has already started. According to H2O4U Finland Oy, the company responsible for the construction work, planning should be complete in March 2019. The estimated duration of the construction work is 10 months, and the schedule and the size of the bottling plant will be specified when the planning work is completed. The facility will be located on Hennala's Kallio-Pietilänkatu, on a plot owned by H2O4U Finland Oy.

The production plant is expected to provide jobs for 20–30 people, and the employment impact of the construction phase is estimated at 130 person-years. In addition, the project team aim to acquire the required outsourcing and contractor services from the Lahti region to the greatest extent possible. The plant will be built by a Finnish construction company, whose identity is to be revealed when the construction work starts.

'The investment now confirmed is good news for the entire Lahti region. It also strengthens Lahti's position in the international environmental industry,' says Mayor of Lahti Pekka Timonen.

The Singapore-based investor Allan Poh, with his family, and their company Aqua-Matters are involved in H2O4U Finland Oy's investment. England-based Zenith Global is in charge of the process and equipment planning.

When the water-bottling plant is completed, all of its products will be exported. For the first few years, the main target market will be China.
