Milla Bruneau to lead the Lahti European Green Capital project

Lahti was chosen as the European Green Capital for the year 2021 in June. Since then, the city has been looking for a professional with solid experience in project management, business partnerships and international relations to take charge of the project.
Milla Bruneau

TV producer and director Milla Bruneau has now been appointed to the position. Her strong application, interview and personality made her the best candidate for the job. The appointment committee's decision was unanimous. A total of 22 applicants were after the position, five of whom were interviewed and two of whom made it to the personal suitability assessment stage of the process.

Milla Bruneau has decades of experience of running international production companies. Bruneau is also the current chair of Lahti City Council.

The newly appointed project manager will oversee the coordination of the European Green Capital project, including resourcing, administration and national and international partnerships. The content of the project and its day-to-day running and execution are responsibilities of Programme Director Saara Vauramo, who is one of Finland's leading environmental experts.

Milla Bruneau takes the reins of the European Green Capital 2021 project on 16 September 2019. More new recruits will be added to the project organisation later in the autumn.
