Lahti is the European Green Capital 2021
The European Commission has chosen Lahti as the European Green Capital 2021 (European Green Capital Award, EGCA) as the first city in Finland. The award is proof of Lahti’s persistent environmental work as Finland’s leading environmental city.
The European Green Capital Year in Lahti was officially launched with a virtual Handover and Opening Ceremony on Friday 15 January 2021.

Lahti invites European cities to engage in dialogue on environmental solutions
The European Dialogue for Sustainable Cities is a new series of panel discussions which seeks to provide a platform for vigorous debate on solutions for European cities in the midst of an ecological crisis and the coronavirus pandemic.
