Enjoy ice skating at the Market Square skating rink

The artificial ice rink at Lahti Market Square is ready ahead of schedule! Skaters of all ages are invited to enjoy winter fun and spend time together at this free, feel-good activity spot.

After a break of several years, the Market Square skating rink has returned. Built on a tight schedule, the rink will open to the public on Friday, December 5.

This easy-access venue has been especially popular with children, young people, and families.

– The skating rink has clearly been a major attraction, bringing more life to the Market Square in winter and enlivening the city center. I’m truly happy that we can offer this cheerful place for residents again this year, says Inkeri Määttä, Head of Events and Cultural Affairs.

The rink will be maintained daily from 9:00 to 20:00. For safety reasons, ice hockey is not allowed due to nearby taxi traffic and pedestrian routes. The skating rink will remain open until March 9, 2026.
