A free outdoor gym will be available for five weeks at Laune Central Park in Lahti, allowing residents to work on their summer fitness. The temporary facility features adjustable resistance equipment suitable for people over 14, regardless of fitness level. Small children must be supervised and cannot play on the machines.
The gym serves as a test before permanent equipment is installed in the park in the coming years. It is also part of Omnigym Oy’s international research project, which studies user experiences across Europe. Feedback is gathered through surveys and sensor-based tracking, with all data collected anonymously and shared with the city.
The gym will be set up on May 9 at 9 a.m. and open from noon that day until June 13. An opening event with equipment guidance will be held on May 14 from 2 to 6 p.m., with experts from the manufacturer and local sports services providing assistance.
