Lahti’s 4th–7th graders spend their school day at the Lahti Ski Games

On Friday, 6 March 2026, the Lahti Ski Games will turn into a learning experience for Lahti’s basic education pupils. All local 4th- to 7th-graders will spend their school day at the Lahti Sports Centre for the event. The day is organised together by the City of Lahti, Lahti Ski Games, and Ventoniemi Oy.

Pupils who live farther away will get transportation, while those nearby will walk to the event. During the day, pupils can watch top winter sports, take part in side activities, and enjoy the special atmosphere of the Lahti Ski Games as part of their schoolwork.

Friday has traditionally been a free entry day for school groups at the Lahti Ski Games. This year, kindergarten groups and other basic education classes (not in grades 4 to 7) can also visit the area with their teacher for free. Pupils will get tickets from their school, which also gives them free entry to the event all weekend. This year, upper secondary and vocational student groups also have free entry on Friday.

– Lahti is known internationally for the Lahti Ski Games and winter sports. It is important that our pupils can experience this international atmosphere and learn about the event environment right here in their hometown, says Matti Saarela, Service Manager of Basic Education.

Schools will give pupils and guardians all practical information and schedules.
