Nature Step to Health is a joint health and environment programme for the Lahti region, 2022–2032. It is one of the legacy projects of Lahti’s European Green Capital year (2021).

The One Health for Cities conference brings together European mayors, decision-makers and experts to discuss how cities can become healthier for people, the rest of nature, and ecosystems. The Chair of Lahti City Board, Pekka Komu, will present Lahti’s programme and share examples of how planetary health can be promoted at the local level.

Keynote speakers include Members of the European Parliament Sirpa Pietikäinen and Tilly Metz, and Roser Domenech Amado from the European Commission. The programme also features contributions from World Health Organisation (WHO) experts and representatives of several European cities. Lahti will also be represented by Marju Prass, who takes part on behalf of the One Health Gov project and the University of Helsinki.

The One Health 4 Cities network promotes the interconnected health of people, animals and the environment in urban development.
