The renovation included the athletics field, the soccer field, and the sand field next to them. The competition areas and their surfaces, drying structures, and track edges were renewed. The fence surrounding the field has been completely replaced.
A comprehensive outdoor fitness area with equipment was also built on the field. The lighting at the Radiomäki sports field has been improved so that the field can be used longer in the fall. The lighting has been implemented with energy-saving LED lights.
The sand field next to the sports field serves as a playing field in the summer and as an ice hockey rink and skating area in the winter. The public skating area is frozen as soon as the weather permits.
The field has a discus and hammer throw area as well as shot put areas.
Slots for the track and jumping areas will be allocated starting on May 2. Slots for the grass field will not be allocated until June 1. This will ensure that the grass field has a good start to its growth.
