At the beginning of the year, residents of Lahti submitted over 900 ideas for improving the city. City experts have reviewed all the ideas, and some have been developed further in collaboration with residents. For the voting phase, some ideas have been combined and refined to ensure they can be realistically implemented by the city. A total of 162 proposals from across the city were selected for voting.
How to vote?
Ideas are voted on through the omalahti.fi website. For data security reasons, children under 13 must vote using a paper form. Assistance with voting and paper forms are available at Palvelutori and Lahti libraries. Each person may vote only once.
The ideas up for vote are divided into the southern, eastern, northern, and central areas, as well as ideas concerning the whole city. A total of €200,000 has been allocated for implementing residents’ ideas. Each area may receive up to €40,000 worth of projects. The city will implement the most popular ideas in 2026.
