Are you looking for a school place for your child aged 7–16? If your child is new to Lahti and does not speak Finnish, they will first attend preparatory education for basic education. In preparatory education, pupils learn Finnish before joining a regular class.
Preparatory education can take place in your local school or another school. For children in grade 1, preparatory education is usually arranged in the local school together with Finnish-speaking pupils.
After preparatory education, the pupil will transfer to a regular Finnish class in their local school.
