Rakokivi

The Rakokivi Shopping Centre is being developed as a centre of eastern Lahti that continues to provide good services for everyday life. Housing is planned for Rakokivi so that more residents can move there. The transport network and environmental attractiveness are also being improved.

We want to increase housing construction near the shopping centre and market square so that services can be developed, and they would continue to have good conditions to succeed. We are looking for opportunities for the grocery stores to develop their operations in the shopping centre area. We are making the environment more attractive by calming the traffic and developing the market square and park areas.

Community centre is the driver for area development

The new Rakokivi Community Centre will be opened in 2021. The diverse and high-quality building is going to host a day care centre, a school and a library. When the community centre is completed, it will bring new life around the shopping centre. Eastern Lahti Health Centre is also being planned at Rakokivi.

The are is developed together

Planning work has been carried out in tight cooperation with landowners, entrepreneurs and residents. In November 2017, over 250 people came to plan and create the future of the area. Based on the ideas, Nordic Works Collective drew up an idea plan for the Rakokivi market square area, which is partly used as the basis for further work.
