Explore the museums

Visit the Malva, Lahti Historical Museum, the Radio and TV Museum Mastola, or the Ski Museum. A museum tour is a great way to escape the heat in air-conditioned spaces while enjoying fascinating exhibitions and culture. If you prefer art outdoors, Lahti offers public artworks around the city to admire.

Head to the beach

According to water quality measurements at Lahti’s beaches, the water is clean and inviting for swimming. However, keep an eye on the blue-green algae situation. Hot weather and warm water attract swimmers, with water temperatures ranging from 22°C to 26.3°C.

Try new sports

Summer is a perfect time to test out new activities. Try frisbee golf at one of Lahti’s six courses or go orienteering with fixed checkpoints. Thrill-seekers can enjoy stunts at skateparks and pump tracks.

Go on a bike ride

Pedal along the celebratory routes honouring Lahti’s 120th anniversary! Two new cycling routes were launched: a longer 120 km route and a shorter 40 km loop (approximately 120 minutes).

Starting from Lahti Harbour, the routes offer stunning lake views, rolling terrain, forest paths, and gravel roads that wind through fields. Both routes can be shortened or split into multiple rides.

Lahti is ideal for gravel biking. Its terrain and nature offer great variety and scenic beauty for active explorers.

In addition to marked and maintained trails, Salpausselkä offers a rich network of natural forest paths. You can find the summer outdoor map of Salpausselkä on the city’s website to help plan your route.

Events in Lahti all in one place

Lahti’s new event calendar gathers all local events by date and type. It includes sections for current themes—right now, the spotlight is on the Lahti120 anniversary year, with the main event scheduled to take place at the end of October. If you’re planning a summer trip to a neighbouring municipality, the platform also lists events throughout the Häme region.

Currently, the event calendar is only available in Finnish. Still, an English version is planned to launch later in the Fall.
