Spartan returns to Lahti in August 2026!
Over the weekend, thousands of participants will make their way through the Salpausselkä terrain and tackle the obstacles along the course. The main venue for the event is the Lahti Sports Centre.
The event in Lahti offers three different distances: SPRINT 5 km, SUPER 10 km, and BEAST 21 km, as well as a dedicated KIDS RACE for children.
In addition, this year Lahti will host the Spartan Para World Championship, where the competition distance is SUPER 10 km.

We are now looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join the event. There are tasks for everyone from seasoned volunteers to first-timers and all volunteers will be trained for their roles. Come along and be part of creating and experiencing an international event in Lahti!

Volunteer tasks:
Competition
Competition office
In this task, you will work in the competition office. The task involves helping the staff to greet, check-in and answer questions for racers and spectators. The task requires a positive attitude, computer skills, and fluency in Finnish and English. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Bag storage
In this task, you will work at the bag storage point. The job involves receiving participants’ bags for storage and returning them to racers after the race. The task requires a positive attitude and fluency in Finnish and English.
Start area
In this task you will work at the race start area, that’s is located at the Lahti Sports Centre. The tasks at the start include various assisting duties such as guiding competitors to the start area and helping them line up, holding the start tape, and performing other necessary tasks. A positive and energetic attitude is required for this role, and language skills are considered an advantage.
Finish area
In this task, you will work in the finish area. The job involves giving medals to finishers, preparing and serving drinks, giving t-shirts, and possible products, and collecting timing tags. The task requires a positive and cheerful attitude, and language skills are considered an advantage.
Administration
Volunteer Office
In this task, you will work in the volunteer office located in the event area. The job involves greeting volunteers as they arrive for their shift, giving shirts and other necessary equipment to volunteers, and providing instructions as needed.
Event Construction
Event Setup and Takedown
In this task you will work at event construction team. Volunteers in the construction team help set up the event area before the event and take it down afterward. Tasks include, for example, placing signs, setting up tents and furniture, and preparing the area for use. No prior experience is needed, an energetic attitude and an interest in hands‑on work are enough.
