Abnormal transports permits for the City’s street network are issued by the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of Pirkanmaa (Pirkanmaa ELY Centre).
An abnormal transport permit is needed when the transport exceeds the free dimension limits and the weight allowed in normal road traffic.
The permit for a transport in the city street network is issued by the ELY Centre. There is an agreement on this matter with the City of Lahti, ELY Centre and Päijät-Häme Police Department. The permit is issued in accordance with specified dimensions, limitations and routes stated in the agreement and the general conditions of abnormal transports.
The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Pirkanmaa issues all permits for abnormal transports in Finland, with the exception of the Åland Islands.
