Free bike tune-up and cycling events

Cycling Week is celebrated in Lahti and throughout Finland from May 3rd to 12th. The week offers open cycling-themed events and useful tips for everyone.

On Friday, May 3rd, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, guidance on using the Mankeli city bikes will be available at five Mankeli stations:

  • Market Place “Tori”
  • Harbor “Satama”
  • Marski Square “Marskin aukio”
  • Lahti Sports Centre “Lahden urheilukeskus”
  • Main Library “Pääkirjasto”

On Saturday, May 4th, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, free minor bike maintenance will be offered at Lahti Market Square. Maintenance will be done on a first-come, first-served basis within the schedule. The service is provided by the City of Lahti and executed by Fillaripiste.

On Tuesday, May 7th, from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM, morning coffee will be available for commuter cyclists at the Loviisanpässi bike shelter at the end of Hämeenkatu. The event is organized in cooperation with Liikenneturva (Finnish Road Safety Council).

The main theme of Cycling Week is traffic peace, which emphasizes both the calm behavior of traffic environments and the users.
