The charity tour will visit three cities: Lahti, Helsinki, and Turku. The tour’s patrons are Olena Zelenska, wife of the President of Ukraine, and Suzanne Innes-Stubb, wife of the President of the Republic of Finland.
The City of Lahti plays a significant role in making the concert possible. Sibeliustalo is supporting the project by waiving its ticket sales commissions, offering its services at a significantly reduced rate, and providing marketing support free of charge. Compass Group, the catering provider, and Ticketmaster, the ticketing partner, are also contributing to the project. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to charity.
Lahti Mayor Niko Kyynäräinen considers it important that Lahti is involved in supporting this international charity project.
– The right of Ukrainian children to attend school safely is a cause we want to champion. We are proud that Lahti is part of such an important initiative, says Kyynäräinen.
World-class international soloists and the power of music
In addition to Karita Mattila, Ukrainian and Finnish opera singers Sergii Magera, Serhii Hurets, Olena Arbuzova, and Jyrki Anttila, as well as Nadiia Liesnikova, a young Ukrainian singer who won the Dity Help Music singing competition.
The concert program features classical masterpieces alongside timeless hits in new rock arrangements. The evening’s program includes compositions by Vivaldi, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and Sibelius, among others.
– It is a great honor to be part of this unique concert tour together with Musiikkitalo and Fuuga. Music has the power to bring people together across borders, and in this concert, that power translates into tangible aid, says Kimmo Kivisilta, CEO of Eventum Lahti Oy.
The Louder Than Sirens tour is also a way of thanking the Finnish people for their support of Ukraine. The concert is organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Finland.
