The Spartan Race event center, being held in Lahti for the second time, is located at the Lahti Sports Centre, which serves as the start and finish line for all race courses. From the Sports Centre, routes of various lengths lead to Pikku-Vesijärvi park and the lakeside trail.
The Lahti Historic Rally is taking place during the same event weekend, with its race center located at Sibelius Hall. The routes for the events have been coordinated so that they do not interfere with one another. One of the Spartan obstacles will be built on the Teivaa harbor lakeside trail so that participants climb over the roadway while rally cars pass underneath the obstacle.
The Para World Championships and Spartan Doubles bring something new to the program
Highlights of this year’s Spartan weekend include the Para World Championships, being held for the second time, and the Spartan Doubles series, in which participants compete in pairs.
The Para World Championships will be held on the Super course (10 km and 25 obstacles), and the divisions are determined according to the international disability classifications for para sports.
Spartan Doubles is a pairs competition in which participants decide for themselves which partner will tackle each obstacle. The pair progresses through the entire course together and crosses the finish line at the same time.
Even the youngest members of the family can join in the excitement, as a dedicated Spartan Kids Race course will be set up at the Lahti Sports Centre as early as friday.
Admission to the Spartan Race event area at the Lahti Sports Centre is free for the public. Restaurant and café services will be available at the Festival Arena for participants, spectators, and support crews.
Information regarding traffic arrangements due to the event will be provided separately before the race weekend.
