The new outdoor gym and parkour area in Keskuspuisto are now complete and were opened to the public on Friday. The game arena has also been moved to the Family Park side. Two table tennis tables have been installed there. Rackets and balls are not provided, so players must bring their own.

In addition, two new picnic tables have been placed near the Family Park’s shelter. The table tennis tables and picnic tables were funded through participatory budgeting (OSBU).

During the summer, finishing work on the arboretum and walkways, stormwater basins, and a flower garden built near the Family Park were also completed in Central Park. The flower garden was also implemented as an OSBU project by planting edible summer flowers in boxes within the arboretum’s edible plant area.

By the end of September, the Mini-Lahti traffic town and the hobby horse track – which is also one of the participatory budgeting projects – will be completed. The grand opening of the traffic town will be held this fall.

The renovation of Central Park will continue next year. The water play area will be redesigned with a pirate theme, a pump track will be built in the area, and the playground for small children will be renovated. In addition, parking areas will be improved, the entrance will be renovated, and the area’s signage will be updated.
