Carsharing companies can be issued a general parking permit. Vehicles issued with the permit can be parked in all marked resident parking spaces (P symbol marked with a sign A, B, C, D or E) free of charge and without a time limit. When parking in other spaces, the charges must be paid and, if required, a parking disc must be used.
Carsharing is decentralised and flexible car rental. A registered customer can have access to a vehicle even for a short period of time, any time of the day and from several locations.
Carsharing vehicles can be booked on the internet, the application or by telephone. Unlocking and locking the vehicle is usually done with a mobile phone and the keys are inside the vehicle. To use the vehicle, the customers can either pay a fixed monthly payment and by time used and kilometres driven or only for what they use. The vehicles of carsharing companies are available for all registered users.
In Lahti, carsharing companies can obtain the general parking permit free of charge until the end of 2021. The companies who apply for the parking permit must meet and approve the permit conditions. The Head of Traffic Planning decides on the granting of the permits.
Parking carsharing vehicles
If a vehicle has a general parking permit issued by the City of Lahti, it entitles parking in the on-street resident parking spaces which are shown in the attached map. You do not have to pay parking fees or use a parking disc. When parking in other spaces, you must pay the parking fees and, in time-restricted spaces, use a parking disc. The general parking permit of carsharing vehicles is electronical and parking control can identify it by the register number. When you use carsharing vehicles that do not have a parking permit, you must pay the specified parking fees and use a parking disc in time-restricted spaces.
