The Finnish frontrunner cities of Lahti, Lappeenranta and Vaasa will host a policy discussion on the green transition in Brussels in October 2026. The event will showcase how medium-sized cities are translating the European Union’s climate and energy targets into practical solutions in areas such as energy production, sustainable mobility and business development.
In addition to the host cities, representatives from Lund, Sønderborg and Assen will participate in the panel discussion. The aim of the event is to strengthen European cooperation and peer learning while highlighting the significant role of medium-sized cities in building a sustainable future.
