The dog park will be built on an old gravel pit located at the top of Kariniemenpuisto. The total area of the dog park is approximately 770 square meters, and it will be divided into two sections. An entrance area with a gate will be built in the park.
Decaying wood structures will be placed in both sections of the park to support biodiversity and provide stimulation and variety for the dogs. In addition, a few recycled benches will be placed in the enclosures.
The new enclosure responds to numerous requests from residents for a second dog park in the city center, in addition to the Radiomäki dog park.
Supplies can be delivered to the area as early as the end of September. During construction, the top of Kariniemenpuisto Park will be closed to public access, and construction vehicles and other site traffic will be moving through the area. People in the area are advised to exercise extreme caution.
