The Adult Education Center offers 1,500 courses for people of all ages throughout the academic year. As a pilot program, Wellamo College is also offering free digital counseling at Lahti-piste starting in early September on Wednesdays from 13:00 to 15:00. Registration is now open for private music lessons and for the Taika School of Art and Design.
The language program offers opportunities to study 14 different languages: Finnish, Swedish, English, German, French, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Hebrew, Japanese, Latin, Norwegian, Estonian, and Basque. You can study beginner Latin and Roman culture in a hybrid course, beginner English in Lahti, beginner Spanish in Padasjoki and online, beginner French in Hollola, or Italian and cooking in Asikkala.
A wide variety of music classes are available for different age and skill levels. New offerings include music classes for adults and seniors, as well as a “Write Your Own Song” composition course for adults. Music is also heard and seen outside the school, for example at the Wellamo Club in Restaurant Tirra, the Lahti City Library, the Lahti Historical Museum, and at concerts for basic arts education in Hollola and Orimattila.
We offer health-promoting exercise and dance courses, such as body maintenance in Jalkaranta, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) in Asikkala, circuit training in Myrskylä, fitness dance in Padasjoki, and kettlebell training in Hollola. “Exercise with Your Child” courses will also begin in Renkomäki and Pennala, Orimattila, as well as online Chair Pilates.

The course offerings, digital magazine, and registration link can be found on the wellamo-opisto.fi website. Nearly 95% of course participants in recent years have registered online. You can also get help with registration at the Lahti service desk in the Trio Shopping Center.
When registration opens, the online payment service may experience heavy traffic. However, your registration is complete once you receive a confirmation email and a payment link. You can make the payment as late as the next day or up until the course start date. The payment link is secure if the subject line reads “Wellamo-opisto.” The confirmation email is sent by Wellamo-opisto from no-reply@linnunrata.fi.
You can pick up a printed course catalog at municipal libraries, as well as at Lahti-Piste in Lahti, the Trio Shopping Center, the Suomalainen Kirjakauppa bookstore, the Prisma stores in Holma and Laune, and the Karisma Shopping Center.
Wellamo College is a regional adult education center in Päijät-Häme operated by the City of Lahti. It operates in Lahti, Asikkala, Hollola, Kärkölä, Myrskylä, Orimattila, and Padasjoki.
