Mobile Library Saaga Returns to Service from June 8

Lahti city library’s mobile library, Saaga, will return to service and its evening routes according to the new route schedule on Monday, June 8.

The electric mobile library Saaga has been out of service since October 2025. During this time, evening routes have been operated with a library van, and book bags have been delivered to nursery schools and schools. Saaga was originally introduced in autumn 2024.

The effectiveness of the repair measures carried out is being evaluated together with the vehicle supplier and an independent expert. At the same time, the technical performance of the bus and its suitability for operational needs will continue to be monitored. For this reason, there may still be occasional disruptions in the operation of the mobile library. Any exceptional arrangements will be notified separately.

The schedules and routes for the Saaga mobile library can be found in the Lastu online library. The mobile library will also operate in July this summer.
