From the beginning of June, there will be one travel zone and the length of the journey will no longer affect the price of the journey. The new pricing follows the current two-zone prices. The price of internal journeys will not change in Lahti or other LSL service municipalities. Long journeys will become cheaper.
Customer groups will remain the same as before. Children, young, students and seniors will still receive a cheaper travel ticket than adults.
The reform will not require any measures for passengers. The zones of existing Waltti travel cards, season tickets and mobile tickets will be updated automatically in the background. New travel cards cannot be ordered from the Waltti online store from 25 May to 1 June 2026. Sales and service points will sell cards during that period.
From the beginning of June, senior tickets for people over 65 years of age can also be purchased from the Waltti Mobile application on your phone. Previously, the senior-priced ticket product could only be purchased with a travel card.
The ticket is valid for 70 minutes. Until the end of May, the validity period is 70 minutes for trips in zones 1–2, 120 minutes for trips in zones 3–4, and 90 minutes for trips paid for with contactless payment.
Price effects
Travel within Lahti: Pricing will not change if the passenger has previously travelled in the AB zone. From 1 June 2026, all longer journeys will be priced as two-zone journeys and the same price will allow travel throughout the LSL area.
