The traditional Sinfonia Lahti park concert opens with the sounds of Georges Bizet’s Carmen. Our national composer Jean Sibelius’s less frequently performed Cantique and Devotion for cello and orchestra will be heard, interpreted by young cellist Iiris Piri, who has roots in Lahti.
Additionally, works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Mikhail Glinka will be performed, along with music by Edvard Grieg and Antonín Dvořák. The concert concludes with Jean Sibelius’s Finlandia.
The conductor is Maria Itkonen, and the soloist is cellist Iiris Piri. The event will be hosted by Henna Eskonsipo-Bradshaw, Director of Urban Culture for the City of Lahti.
Before the Sinfonia Lahti concert, the audience will be entertained by the Miikka Kallio Band, featuring Mikael Saari as the soloist.

Getting to the park concert
Mukkula Event Park is located in the Mukkula district at the tip of Ritaniemi, overlooking Lake Vesijärvi.
A large audience is expected at the event, which will cause temporary changes to traffic arrangements.
The Mankeli bike-share station is located in the sandy parking area by Mukkula beach. E-scooters will also be directed to park in the same area. Speed restrictions will apply to rental e-scooters within the event area. Pedestrians and cyclists will be directed to the event park via the beach parking area.
Traffic arrangements and parking
Traffic will be restricted on the following streets:
Part of Niemenkatu will be fully closed to motor vehicles between Ritaniemenkatu and Haapalankatu.
Haapalankatu will be made one-way street and the lane next to the pavement will be converted into a temporary parking area.
Reduced speed limits will be in effect on these streets.

Parking is free of charge for the duration of the event in the temporary parking areas listed above.
The event will offer food and drink services, as well as a licensed serving area (age 18+), so bringing your own alcoholic beverages into the event area is not permitted. There are two water taps in the event park where visitors can refill their own water bottles.
The event is jointly organised by the City of Lahti, Sinfonia Lahti, Möysä Music Club and Soundfest.
The event is open to everyone and free of charge. The concert is weather permitting.
